Setting Goals and Perseverance

Setting Goals and Perseverance

There are a few people in this world who can succeed without any goals or plans. They are either lucky or made some kind of otherworldly deal.

For the rest of us, having a plan is probably the only way to succeed in what we want.

It makes no sense to persevere if you choose the wrong plan or no plan at all.

By setting goals, you can strive to complete them, which you will use to persevere. This doesn’t mean that all the goals or tasks will be correct. But, you can find alternatives when needed.

At least when you have a plan, you have a reason to pursue them.

There are many ways to set goals, but one of the more acceptable ways is to start with high-level goals. Then, for each of those high-level goals, define the tasks that it would take to accomplish those goals.

Set milestones so that you can measure how you are doing at each step. It’s okay to make adjustments along the way, even to the high-level goals. But, the key is to use this as a roadmap to keep going. That is the best way to get to where you want to go. Perseverance will play a big role here.

If you give up at any point, don’t beat yourself up too much. Either start over or if possible, pick up where you left off.

When you finally accomplish your goals and milestones, it will be that much more worth the effort.

Sometimes, people don’t get back to their goals. Either they gave up too quickly, or they weren’t meant to make them happen.

If this happens to you, find out what you really want from those goals and if they are right for you.

It is okay if they aren’t, but just make sure that you didn’t give up because it was easier to do that. You don’t want to live with regrets.

If you find that you are constantly giving up on your goals, you may want to get some professional help.

This can either be in the form of coaching or in extreme cases, you may want to seek the advice of a counselor or hypnotherapist.

Sometimes this can make the difference in breaking the barrier of quitting before meeting your goals. A mentor or counselor can give you the necessary guidance and may even be able to help you define better goals.

It could be you just weren’t following the right plan.

Learning to Love Yourself

Learning to Love Yourself

Living in a negative world makes it hard to love yourself. You are constantly being bombarded with bad news or information that just doesn’t fit for staying positive. These tips can help you turn it around and start to love yourself.

  1. Consider the 24-hour opportunity costs of hating yourself

Every day, you are given 24 hours and at least five or six of those hours are spent sleeping.

That leaves approximately 18 hours for you to either love yourself or not.

If you spend most of the time disliking yourself and putting yourself down, you essentially have wasted that time.

In contrast, if you used most of that time to love yourself, you have no time for hating yourself.

Learn to Love Yourself

  1. When you love yourself, others will be more willing to love you too

Love is considered a positive emotion. Therefore, when you project love, it comes back to you.

The same is true when you project negativity. It will come right back to you.

Since the choice is yours, why not choose positivity and love?

  1. Stay away from people who are negative

These people drain your positive energy to the point where you become like them over time.

Think back to anyone who you view as negative.

What benefits do they serve to you from their negative behavior?

You won’t come up with any.

  1. Focus most of your energy on the present

It’s the only time frame you have some control over.

The past cannot be changed, and the future hasn’t happened.

People dwell on both of these time frames and lose sight of living for the current time frame.

  1. You are the only person that can love yourself for the majority of the time

Your parents and family love you.

However, they have their own lives to live.

While they may support you, and be there for you, they cannot do this every second of the day.

You have to be the one who does it when they are not around.

If you can do it while they are not there, why not do it when they are there as well?

  1. You may be cutting yourself off from opportunities if you don’t love yourself

It’s about projecting the right kind of message to others.

Your body language and your actions reflect how you feel about yourself.

People pick up on this even at a subconscious level.

If you give off a negative vibe, others may not consider you for a promotion or other opportunities.

  1. To love yourself, start by liking yourself

Give yourself the permission learn to love yourself.

Start by accepting your faults, but committing to change what you can (and what you want).

Make changes only if you feel changes within are needed.

  1. Avoid toxic people

People who are critical of you either don’t understand who you are or are going through issues of their own.

You should ignore these people.

Be aware that this is different than your boss giving you constructive criticism at work.

Boosting Self Image

Boosting Self Image

There’s a lot you can accomplish by having a positive self-image.

Your confidence will increase which means that you can deal with more situations.

People will respond to your increased self-image in a positive way as well.

The first step to increasing your self-image is to know yourself.

You need to understand your capabilities and skills and want to determine your weaknesses to improve upon.

But don’t beat yourself up too much when identifying these, as weaknesses can easily be turned into strengths if you work at them long enough.

Determine what aspects about you are important to change and concentrate on those.

There may be aspects that you are not that concerned with and won’t have much effect on your self-image.

Ignore those, as you can’t and shouldn’t change every aspect of yourself.

Sometimes, you should just accept those aspects of your personality and move on.

You need to be willing to change as if you don’t feel good about yourself, you have to make changes to turn that around.

Change is never easy, but when it comes to increasing your self-image, you will see that it’s worth the effort.

You can seek out an image consultant to help if you are struggling with doing this yourself. An image consultant is trained in helping people increase their self-image.

It can be humbling to hear what the consultant advises but this is part of the process, and you should embrace it. Don’t be afraid to spend some money for a decent consultant. The results they provide will pay for itself.

Keep in mind that no matter what kind of help you get, this is your journey or change.

Don’t worry about what others may believe and stop comparing yourself to other people. They don’t have to live your life.

You are the one that has to live with the consequences of your new image, both good and bad. Although, try to emphasize only the good whenever possible.

When your self-image improves, just about every aspect of your life will follow. You will have better relationships at home and at work, and you will have a positive attitude.

Tasks will seem less challenging partly because people will be more willing to pitch in to help you accomplish them.

They will feed off your positive energy and want to be around you more often.

This may open opportunities for you that you never thought you would have at your disposal.

9. Enhance your Worldwide Profile

  • Review how your website or social media profiles come up in search engines and compare to your competitors
  • If they are consistently coming up more than your business, you need to act
  • Search engine optimization may help you to choose better key words and to update the meta tags on your content, so the search engines can access and index your site more completely
  • Ensure you have up dated equipment and your website is hosted on a reliable site with 100% up time. Slow sites, especially for mobile devices will result in very low engagement
